PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE PRIMARY ELECTION VOTE-BY-MAIL INFORMATION:

Per Florida Laws, all vote-by-mail requests must be renewed every election cycle (every two years) after each General Election. Voters who wish to receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the 2024 elections are required to complete a new vote-by-mail request.

A voter may pick up no more than two ballots with a note from their immediate family only, plus their own.

Designee must have all necessary paperwork to pick up a ballot for a family member:

  • Affidavit to pick up a ballot must be completed and signed by voter or
  • A note from a voter which includes name, date of birth and Fl. ID, DL# or last four digits of SS# and signature.
  • Valid photo ID of the person picking up ballot.

Vote By Mail, It Just Got Easier!

The convenience of voting by mail just got easier. One request is all that is required to vote in one or all elections through the next general election. A ballot will be mailed to each voter between the 40th and 33rd day before Election Day. 

You can return your Vote-by-Mail ballot by mail or you can hand deliver your ballot to any Early Voting location during Early Voting or drop it off at one of our four office locations, no later than 7:00 pm on Election Day.

If the ballot requested is to be mailed to an address other than the voters address currently on file in the Florida Voter Registration System, the request must be made in writing and signed by the voter.

Who Can Request a Vote by Mail Ballot?

Vote-By-Mail requests may be made by:

  • The voter
  • The voter’s family or legal guardian

Family members include the:

  • Voter’s Spouse
  • Parent
  • Child
  • Grandparent
  • Grandchild
  • Siblings

A request for a vote-by-mail ballot to be mailed, must be received by the Supervisor of Elections office no later than 5:00 p.m. on the tenth day before the election. Vote-By-Mail Ballots cannot be forwarded.

If the Vote-by-Mail ballot is to be mailed to an address other than the elector's address on file in the Florida Voter Registration System, the request must be made in writing and signed by the elector.

A vote-by-mail ballot request must include:

  • The name of the voter
  • The address to which the ballot is to be mailed
  • Date of birth
  • If it is a written request, the signature of the voter is also required.
  • Last four digits of your Social security #, Florida Driver’s License # or Florida Identification #

If the Vote-By-Mail ballot is requested by anyone other than the voter, it must also contain the:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Last four digits of the Social security #, Florida Driver’s License # or Florida Identification # of the person making the request on behalf of the voter, and must indicate the relationship to the voter

Vote-By-Mail Ballots are available approximately 40– 33 days prior to Election Day.

Vote by Mail Ballot Pickup

A voter may ask another person to pick up a Mail-ballot on their behalf up to 5 days prior to the day of the election. The person designated may not pick up more than two Mail-ballots per election, other than the designee’s own ballot, except that additional ballots may be picked up for members of the designee’s immediate family.

Someone who is picking up a Vote-by-Mail Ballot for another person, must have a signed request from the voter. The request must include:

  • The name of the voter for whom the ballot is requested
  • The address of the voter
  • The voter’s date of birth
  • Last four digits of their Social security #, Florida Driver’s License # or Florida Identification #

Voting the Ballot

The voter must personally vote the ballot (unless assistance is required due to blindness, disability or inability to read or write). The voter must sign, date and return the Voter’s Certificate envelope. If the voter cannot sign his or her name, he or she must place their “mark” or an “X” in the signature box.

*A power of attorney signature is not valid on a Vote by Mail ballot.

Voting In Person After Requesting a Vote by Mail Ballot

If you have obtained a Mail-ballot but wish to vote in your precinct on Election Day, you must take the voted or un-voted Vote-By-Mail ballot with you to the polls so that it can be cancelled. However, if you are unable to return the Vote-by-mail ballot, you may be asked to vote a provisional ballot.

Returning Your Vote by Mail Ballot

In order for your Vote-By-Mail ballot to be counted, the certificate must be filled out completely with your signature, (email address and your phone number in case we need to contact you) and it must be received at the Supervisor of Elections Office no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. A VOTE-BY-MAIL BALLOT CAN NOT BE RETURNED TO A POLLING PLACE. Be sure there is sufficient postage if the ballot is mailed.

*USPS recommends that you mail your ballot at least a week before the election date
